LEVICKÉ MLIEKÁRNE n.p. (Levice dairy) with the principle place of business in Levice was established in January 1953. The following works belonged under this company: Levice, Bátovce, Tekovské Lužany, Štúrovo, Komárno and Nové Zámky.

In 1992 (27 April 1992) the company was privatized and changed to a joint-stock company named LEVICKÉ MLIEKÁRNE a.s. It has kept this legal form up to now. The company employs about 200 people and ranks among the most important anterprising subjects of Levice region. It processe 105 000 litres of milk from stable regional suppliers daily.

The major share in the production has cheeses of Eidam and Emental types as well as powder milk. The company is focused on using of environmentally – friendly technologies and packages. It is proven by AirPack packaging technology based on calcium carbonate. Other products produced by the company are consumable milk „AirPack“, creams, acidophilic products and cottage cheeses.. LEVICKÉ MLIEKÁRNE a.s. as the first company in Slovakia started to produce a low-fat whey cheese RICCOTA using an Italian technology by SORDI. It is an easily digestible cheese very popular also among demanding consumers because of it is high quality.

To meet the increasing consumers demands for the product quality as well as to increase the efficiency of the production, commercial and supplier activities, LEVICKÉ MLIEKÁRNE a.s. started to build the ISO 9002 quality control system in 1998. On 1 of June 1999, the company was awarded by the Certificate of Quality Control System, namely by renowned company „Lloyd´s Register Quality Assurance Ltd., London“.
